Beyond the Cones is a Training Program addressing officer safety relating to vehicle operation. This course is designed to radically change the police driving culture. LOD’s from vehicle related incidents have claimed more than 1200 lives in the past 20 years. This seminar will address:
- Line of duty deaths related to vehicle crashes;
- Duty related crashes injuring/killing civilians;
- Training “response” drivers to protect the driver and their organization’s liability.
Beyond the Cones will impact the way street cops respond to emergencies. Most, if not all, single-vehicle police crashes responding to critical incidents could be avoided or eliminated. One of the key training objectives of this course is to develop an understanding of how decisions are made through either the “rational v. emotional” process. This course will provide both academy and in-service training that is current and fact-based on the realities of emergency responders. Its purpose is to ultimately change the police driving culture thus saving lives.
