What's this all about?
Academia is increasingly becoming the alternative career. According to the National Science Foundation, only 22.9% of STEM PhD holders in 2008 held tenure-track positions within 5 years of obtaining their degree. Despite this, most graduate students and postdocs are not exposed to opportunities for satisfying careers outside academia.
In this meeting, sponsored by the American Society of Cell Biology, we would like fill that gap for up-and-coming biologists on Long Island
