Event description

Description

Beyond Machine welcomes you to Berlin's best Deep Learning and Machine Learning Bootcamp!

A whole day, jam-packed with mid to high-level workshops on the hottest practices in data science.

Masterclass 1: Advanced Time Series Forecasting with LSTM DeepLearning Neural Networks.

Instructed by Romeo Kienzler, Chief Data Scientist at IBM

Use state-of-the-art DeepLearning libraries and LSTM to predict future data from the past based on crypto-currency stock exchange data

  • Understand how deep learning LSTM auto encoders work;

  • Understand how to use a parallel linear algebra framework like Apache SystemML in order to build neural networks on top of Apache Spark;

  • Understand how to deploy such a system on the Cloud using IBM Bluemix, IBM Watson IoT Platform and IBM Data Science Experience.

Romeo Kienzler works as Chief Data Scientist in the IBM Watson IoT World Wide team helping clients to apply advanced machine learning at scale on their IoT sensor data. His current research focus is on scalable machine learning on Apache Spark. He is a contributor to various open source projects and works as associate professor of artificial intelligence at a Swiss university. Romeo Kienzler is a member of the IBM Technical Expert Council and the IBM Academy of Technology - IBM’s leading brain trusts. #ibmaot

This is an intermediate to advanced session. You need to have some programming skills. Linear Algebra fundamentals is a plus. Knowledge of the Apache Spark Dataframe API is also a plus.

Jan-Matthis Lueckmann

Masterclass 2: Computer Vision - The state of art methods of Image Segmentation, obstacles and applied cases.

Instructed by Jan-Matthis Lueckmann, PhD, researcher at Caesar (Max Planck Society).

  • Provide an overview of recent approaches to dense image segmentation

  • Hands-on exercises to implement a segmentation network in TensorFlow

  • Solve a segmentation task and discuss practical considerations

Jan-Matthis studied Neuroscience in Amsterdam, Bordeaux, and Berlin and is currently pursuing his doctoral degree. He is using Machine Learning and Computer Vision to analyse behavioural data, and is developing algorithms for efficient likelihood-free inference.

Who should attend?

  • Developer, who wants to know more about algorithm or even think about switching to be data scientis

  • Data scientist, who wants to improve or learn more projects outside of work?

  • Data analyst, analyze data cannot satisfy you anymore, you want to learn how to write a magical algorithm?

  • Tech team lead or data team lead wants to know better about data science and machine learning

  • Others, who want to start your own startup with machine learning technology?
