Pizza. Dare we say that it might be the perfect food? It's versions are varied, appealing to almost everyone. There is the familiar savory tomato sauce, cheese combo but less so is that it can also come as a dessert. Toppings may include extra cheese and loads of meat or conversely a vegan version offers no cheese or meat at all. Then, we encounter that most controversial of styles--Hawaiian. According to PMQ Pizza Magazine, Americans spent 45 billion dollars on pizza in 2018. Therefore, we know it is popular. And, we wanted to provide a class for the amateur baker to make it at home incorporating artisan grains into the mix.

Rachel Post, former head baker at Floriole in Chicago, and founder/owner of Our House Pizza will show students how to make pizza and, in a fun twist, will bring along her mobile oven so students learn to bake it indoors and out! Each person will get to make a 12" pie to share with the class.

In addition, Alexander Roman, baker at Somerset, will talk about how the regionally-sourced whole grain flour is a result of the important relationship between farmer, miller, and baker. Sign up today before this class sells out!
