Thank you for registering for Portland Taiko's "Beyond Basics" Spring Session. Taiko is a physical activity, so please keep your water bottle handy, and wear comfortable exercise clothing and sneakers. The class meets online via Zoom every Wednesday from April 28 through May 26 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m and the Zoom link will be emailed to you. For the final two classes (June 2 and 9), students will have the opportunity to meet in-person outdoors at the Oregon Buddhist Temple parking lot or receive supplementary resource videos tailored for the student.

Students will strengthen skills, build on repertoire learned in previous classes, and concentrate on form and timing.

About this event

Description: This seven-week session of "Beyond Basics" for advanced taiko students will provide a broad overview of taiko repertoire. Students will learn Osuwa Daiko's Hiryu Sandan Gaeshi and Isami Goma, review Ondekoza's Utsu Hachijo, and polish Portland Taiko's Matsuri and HA! The class will meet online with supplementary practice videos. For the final two classes (June 2 and 9), students will have the opportunity to meet in-person, outdoors and distanced, to practice and play together.

Schedule: Meets every Wednesday for seven sessions, April 28 through June 9, 2021 from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m.
