Description

An evening with Beverley McLachlin, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada

Update 9/19: Although tickets for the auditorium are sold out, we are thrilled to announce that we'll be broadcasting the event online through a live-stream! Click here to register to watch the live-stream.

The UTM Department of Philosophy invites you to an evening with Justice Beverley McLachlin, the first woman Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, to celebrate the publication of her memoir, Truth be Told. From a farm in Pincher Creek, Alberta, through her training in philosophy and law, to the highest court in the land, McLachlin’s passion for justice guided her in making decisions that continue to shape Canadian social reality. Join us as she shares stories of her career and private life, and discusses the principles that she considers essential to Canadian democracy and the rule of law.

Admission is free, but registration is required.

Auditorium opens at 7:10pm; event begins at 7:30; reception and book-signing to follow.
