Inspired by Pat Cleveland’s memoir, Walking with the Muses, this program celebrates the audacity of fashion trailblazers. Models Pat Cleveland and Coco Mitchell will join in conversation fashion insider and moderator Constance White, to explore the paths taken by black models, designers, and industry insiders, to render visible diverse aesthetics found in communities of color around the world. We will also have on display items from the Schomburg’s archive of American fashion designer Patrick Kelly and a showcase of fashion by Ghanaian-born designer Mimi Plange, in the Langston Hughes Lobby.
Presented in partnership with the Fashion Institute of Technology and their latest exhibition, “Black Fashion Designers.”
Watch on livestream.
