Join us for the opening reception of Bettye’s Bin: The Personal Archives of Stax Songwriter Bettye Crutcher. A new limited-time exhibit celebrating one of the most remarkable voices in soul music history.
This special evening includes:
- Beale Street Brass Note Presentation honoring Bettye Crutcher
- Conversation with Bobby Manuel, Stax musician, producer, and songwriter, interviewed by Bettye’s grandson Devin Crutcher
- Live performance: Devin Crutcher performs some of Bettye’s classic songs, backed by the 926 Stax Music Academy Alumni Band
Discover the story of a woman who transformed poetry into platinum hits, whose words echoed from South Memphis to the world, and whose rediscovered archives now return home to the place where it all began.
