Dates & Topics

September 27: Gut Health 101

Did you know that our Gastro Intestinal (GI) Tract contains a very large portion of our immune system? It's true, and it would, therefore, seem essential to have a healthy gut! What happens when we don’t have a healthy gut? How do we know the state of our gut? How can we be proactive in ensuring a healthy gut?

Join us for a discussion on the basics of gut health & food sensitivities, and learn how we can do the very best to repair, strengthen and maintain healthy guts for our family and ourselves.

October 25: Function - If movement is medicine why does it hurt?

Whether you are nursing a baby, lifting weights in the gym, training for a 5km or reaching for that coffee mug that sits on a high shelf, our bodies need to move and perform the way it’s supposed to. If not, we develop faulty moment patterns which can result in pain and increase the risk of injury. How can we determine how our body is functioning? And how can we ensure our bodies become functional and stay that way?

Join us for a discussion on understanding what your body needs in order to move, function and perform the best it can.

November 22: Longevity - At what age do we start thinking about ‘growing old gracefully’?

We are born with 100 billion neurons, and in our 20s that number starts to decline. We are born with bone whose density continues to increase year after year, until our 30’s, then bone density lessens. We continue to build muscle into our 20s, but in our 30s muscle breakdown is greater than muscle buildup. So, when is it that we start aging? Earlier than we may think!

Join us for a discussion on some proactive strategies that we can start incorporating into our lives now instead of later to get the most out of our present lives and in the many years to come.
