Do you want to learn how to get the most out of your french press? Or do you have a pour-over (e.g. Chemex) sitting in your cabinet but never really learned how to use it? Maybe a friend has told you about the AeroPress but you don't know what the hype is all about?

In this two hour course, we'll dive into the science behind coffee brewing and tackle three different brewing methods with practical tips that you can take home with you!

This course will focus on brewing with:

  • French Press
  • Pour-Over (Chemex, Melita, V60, etc.)
  • AeroPress

In this experience, you'll learn about:

  • The science behind coffee brewing including grind size, amount of coffee, blooming, water temperature, and more
  • How different brewing methods affect the flavor of the coffee
  • Practical tips vs. myths you may have heard about coffee brewing

Of course, it won't be all talk! We'll have a chance to actually brew coffee with our three different methods. You'll be led by our coffee expert and head roaster, Scott, and we'll guide you through noticing different flavors and techniques.

Even if you use a different brew method at home, we're sure that the tips and knowledge gained in this course will further you on your way to a tastier cup in the morning! Geared towards all experience levels, no prior coffee knowledge is necessary and we're sure even an expert will learn something new during this class.

Note: Brewing espresso is a whole different beast, thus this course is not designed to teach you everything you need to know for pulling a shot. We will discuss other brewing methods including espresso at the end of the class.

Covid policy: since you will be in a close environment with others, we request participants only sign up if they are fully vaccinated.
