Time:  8:30 am – 12:30 pm

Instructors:  Deryn Davidson and Sharon Bokan

Cost:  $75

Betasso Preserve Open Space is located in the foothills just west of Boulder. The foothills flora is a transition between plains and mountains. Betasso contains ponderosa pines mixed with grassy meadows and wetland areas with drier south facing slopes. Learn to use a botanical key to identify plants while also learning about their ecological importance, interdependence and uses by humans and wildlife. Invasive plants that threaten the native plants will also be discussed.

The mission of the Native Plant Master Program is to educate the public about native plants in order to foster stewardship, sustainable landscaping and management of weeds that threaten native ecosystems.
