About the Show

Experience a LIVE recording of Noise Pop Podcast featuring special guests from the local music scene!

About the Podcast

Named SF Weekly's "Best Local Music Podcast", the Noise Pop Podcast is a monthly music discovery series showcasing noteworthy and bubbling artists from the Bay Area and beyond.

Storytellers

Local arts & entertainment scribe Adrian Spinelli hosts the Noise Pop Podcast. His work has appeared locally in the SF Chronicle, SF Weekly, KQEDArts, etc... He's the Talent Buyer at Amnesia on Valencia St and produces a number of events throughout the city. You can find him at SF shows and bars on most nights and always on Twitter at @AGSpinelli.

Mahawam

Mahawam is Malik Mays, an Oakland based electronic hip hop artist whose work focuses on the queer identity and blackness and the ways in which those intersections inform cultural progress. Their latest release Is An Island, out now through the Molly House Records, is a meditation on the road from resignation to hope following an HIV diagnosis created to bring visibility to the nuanced experiences of bodies in similar situations.

ZOLA

An old soul in a young body, ZOLA is a 22 year old singer and songwriter from San Francisco. With picturesque lyrics and a soulful breathy cadence, ZOLA’s songwriting combines soul, jazz and R&B for a refreshing take on pop music.

Drew Banga

A full-time producer and musician, Drew Banga spends most of his time at Different Fur Studios as an in-house producer for the studio-affiliated label, Text Me Records. He’s produced tracks for a number of Bay Area hip-hop acts, including Kamaiyah, Rexx Life Raj, Caleborate and more.

Boy Scouts

Taylor Vick makes music that is instantly comforting and arrestingly beautiful. Under her songwriting moniker Boy Scouts, the Bay Area artist has spent over a decade refining her craft, penning heartbreak confessionals over glitchy drum loops since Myspace days. Delicately layered harmonies exude an effortless grace, and make the most casual lyrics hit the hardest. There’s something so honest about her songs, they feel like late night therapy sessions with your best friend.
