Event description

Join the LA County Bike Coalition (LACBC) and Friends of the LA River (FoLAR) as we celebrate Earth Week with a two-wheeled LA River adventure sponsored by Metro’s Bicycle Education Safety Training (BEST) Program. Ride with LACBC and FoLAR as we join volunteers participating in the Lower River portion of the 30th Annual Great LA River Clean Up (La Gran Limpieza) at the Willow Street Estuary site on Saturday, April 27th. The ride will end at the Open Streets celebration at the City of Long Beach’s Pacific - Beach Streets presented by Metro.

Our ride will meet at the Downtown Long Beach Shoreline Park for a Long Beach Lighthouse photo op, as we work our way up the LA River path. Once we arrive at the Willow Street Estuary, there will be an opportunity to volunteer for 1-hour and enjoy the community fair. After, we will reward ourselves by joining the Pacific - Beach Streets presented by Metro back in Downtown Long Beach. This is a slow-paced, ride routed along the LA River Path with minimal street riding. Volunteering for the LA River Clean Up is optional but encouraged.

The Great LA River Clean Up runs from 9 AM -12 PM. Beach Streets runs from 10 AM - 4 PM. If you're interested in volunteering, you may sign up here: Additional information on FoLAR’s CleanUp and organizing groups is available in their organizers kit and on their CleanUp website.
