April 25th and April 26th 9:30am to 4:00pm each day

This two-day interactive training will cover:

--Discovery, Assessment, and Career Planning

--Marketing, Job Development, and Job Customization

--Job and Culture Analysis

--Job Coaching and Systematic Instruction

--Follow-along Strategies and Natural Supports

--Employment Specialist Survival Tips

Helpful for Employment Specialists/Job Coaches, Program Directors, Day Program and Waiver staff, TWC and Workforce Solutions staff, and anyone interested in best practices in supported employment.

This is a FREE training, sponsored by HCC/VAST, The Arc of Greater Houston, The Rockwell Fund, and The Baxter Trust. However, you must register and attend both days. Lunch will be provided. Registration is capped at 50.

Presenter: Michelle Howard Herbein, Executive Director, The Arc of Greater Houston, holds an MSW from Indiana University. She has over 30 years of experience in managing community-based organizations for persons with significant disabilities in Indiana, Virginia, and Texas. She regularly provides training and consultation on organizational change, supported employment, person-centered planning, transition from school to work, program evaluation/outcomes management, and Social Security Work Incentives. She is a credentialed WISA (Work Incentive Specialist Advocate) through Cornell University.
