Training Overview

This training is a 4-day, interactive program designed to build an attendee’s knowledge on global best practices for maintenance and reliability defined by the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP). Areas of concentration are business and management, manufacturing process reliability, equipment reliabiliity, organization and leadership, and work management.

  • Understanding a comprehensive maintenance and reliability framework.
  • The concept of risk as it relates to maintenance and reliability.
  • Calculating risk and reliability strategies for your plant or facility.
  • Applying condition-based maintenance techniques.
  • Designing for reliability and early equipment management concepts.
  • Measuring, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Considering reliability statistics for managers.
  • Developing a business strategy.
  • Navigating the fundamentals of change management.
  • Leadership principles for managers in operations, maintenance, and engineering.
  • Budgeting fundamentals.
  • Scheduling maintenance activities.
  • Tools for identifying waste in work processes.
  • Performing equipment criticality analysis and work prioritization.

Speaker:

Dr. John L Ross, Jr. has been a practitioner of maintenance and reliability for almost four decades. He is a former Captain in the United States Air Force, a Distinguished Graduate of both the Aircraft Maintenance Officer School and the Squadron Officer School, a Gulf War veteran, and a former commander of the F-111F Field Training Detachment. John is also a published author with two best-selling books: The Reliability Excellence Workbook, From Ideas to Action; and, Cover You’re A$$ets, Asset Management at Your Place and at Your Pace.

John is a co-founder of the American Reliability and Maintenance Institute which offers the Certified Storeroom Manager, Certified Storeroom Technician, and Certified Professional Reliability Engineer certifications. He is also a certified Lean Manufacturing facilitator, Process Safety Management SME, and a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP). John holds a U.S. Patent, an A.S., B.S., M.S. and Ph.D.
