In an encore celebration of our stand-out films for 2014, the Atlanta Film Festival proudly presents our Animation Shorts Block; programmed by Christina Humphrey


Location: LeFont Sandy Springs Theaters
Seating Time: 12:30AM (1PM showtime)
Price: FREE; Please RSVP here for priority seating over non-rsvp holders
Line Information: Online ticket buyers will be admitted into Priority Seating Group B.


Baxter - Ty Coyle – USA - 2:55
Baxter, the raccoon, makes his way into Granny's Sweet Shop, but upon entering he gets so obsessed with the candy that he creates his own downfall.

Pipkin - Pamela Wyn Shannon – UK - 5:27
Pipkin is a sycamore seed who is blown by the wind. His journey explores the relationship between landscape, folk memory and finding a place of belonging within the cycles of life.

Olive - Harriet-Lane Ngo – USA - 3:04
Olive finds herself lost in the woods. When she sees a tree in the clearing, she attempts to climb it.

The Wanderer of Saint-Marcel - Rony Hotin – France - 8:00
In the Parisian subway, a happy homeless in spite of his conditions. Every night, after the closure of its station, its dreams take life.

The Dam Keeper - Dice Tsutsumi, Robert Kondo – USA - 18:00
The tale of a young pig with an important job, and a new classmate who changes everything.

Strange Wonderful - Stephanie Swart – USA - 4:18
Little monster goes to school that day. She thinks, 'They probably call me snail face when I'm not around.' Sometimes she gets lonely, but she can be happy too.

Simon's Cat in 'Suitcase' - Simon Tofield – UK - 2:06
A creative cat exceeds the baggage allowance.

Rabbit and Deer - Péter Vácz – Hungary - 16:15
The friendship of Rabbit and Deer is put to the test by Deer's new obsession to find the formula for the 3rd dimension.

Christina Humphrey is the Atlanta Film Festival's Short Film Programmer; she lovingly curated each of these films, out of over 2,000 submissions from 20 different countries, for our 2014 festival audience and filmmakers.

If you were a pass or MovieHopper Card holder for the 2014 festival, you get into all Best of Fest screenings for FREE! You will need your pass, or card, for entry; if you no longer have your pass, please email jessica@atlantafilmfestival.com to have your pass reprinted and waiting for pick-up at the LaFont Box Office.


Box office for Best of Fest will open 1-hour before the first screening of the day, and will close 30 minutes after the last screening of the day commences.

Atlanta Film Festival

The Atlanta Film Festival is a membership-based 501(c)(3) arts non-profit with a mission to lead the community in creative and cultural discovery through the moving image. ATLFF presents a diverse slate of year-round offerings for film-lovers, filmmakers, and industry professionals.  Year round programs —screenings, parties, panels, workshops, and other educational events –provide a forum for building the community of film lovers and film supporters.  By bringing audiences and filmmakers together, the Festival has the opportunity to broaden the perspective of both artists and moviegoers.
