About this event

“Best Berry: New England’s Cranberry Recipe Competition,” premieres at the 1st Annual “CranFest,” on Saturday, November 12, 1 pm at Plimoth Patuxet Museums’ Peabody Pavilion, 137 Warren Avenue, Plymouth. “CranFest” is presented collaboratively by Massachusetts Cranberries and Plimoth Patuxet Museums.

No two-day celebration of the cranberry could be complete without showcasing the recipes and delicious dishes from innovative cooks! “Best Berry: New England’s Cranberry Recipe Competition,” the centerpiece of “CranFest’s” Foodie Day, welcomes home cooks of all ages to delve into their creative kitchens and compete for titles and prizes overlooking Plimoth Patuxet’s picturesque grounds and Eel River.

The “Best Berry” competition features Emmy Award® winning lifestyle host and Boston television personality Anna Rossi as emcee, offering an up-close glimpse of the competition’s inside scoop ‘talk show-style,’ alongside a host of local celebrity judges.

Contest Rules:

  • One entry per person.
  • Recipe must incorporate fresh or frozen cranberries as a key ingredient.
  • The contest is open to all ages. Any contestants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Judging Criteria:

  • Overall appearance of the dish
  • Creativity
  • Flavor

Please note that we cannot heat or refrigerate your dish so please arrive with them at the temperature that you would like them served at.

Prize List:

ALL prizes come with bragging rights.

  • First Place: 2 Tickets to Plimoth Patuxet Museums Thanksgiving Dinner or Harvest Feast in 2023, 2 tickets to a Bog Tour in 2023, 2 tickets to a tasting at Plymouth Bay Winery
  • Second Place: 1 Year family membership to Plimoth Patuxet Museums and a gift basket from Plymouth Bay Winery
  • Third Place: A bountiful basket of Thanksgiving-themed items

The Fine Print for Competing:

  • There is a non-refundable $10 entry fee per contestant. All dishes must be delivered to Plimoth Patuxet Museums between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 12th.
  • At the conclusion of the event we ask that participants retrieve any of their cooking dishes and utensils. We cannot assume responsibility for those items.
