Join a variety of slow art experiences throughout the galleries at Crystal Bridges. Take part in a facilitated discussion about Joseph Stella’s Red Flower or Tom Uttech’s Enassamishhinjijweia led by a Museum Educator; enjoy Mary Cassatt’s Summertime accompanied by live classical music; explore Asher Brown Durand’s Kindred Spirits while listening to readings from the American Transcendentalists; sketch artworks in the galleries; contemplate the slow, graceful motion of George Rickey’s kinetic sculpture One Fixed Four Jointed Lines Biased; or just quiet your mind and be still with your favorite work of art. Afterwards, share your experiences and Slow Art Day impressions by joining a conversation at tables in Eleven, or watch a slow food demonstration on holistic eating by Eleven Chefs and other local chefs.
Free. No registration required. A program schedule will be provided the day of the event at the museum.
