Fail Early or Succeed Quickly?: The Lean UX Advantage
June 6, 2013, 6:30PM ET

Join us as we discuss the value of early involvement of user experience research and design in new product development. This involvement can make the difference between a promising new technology gaining wide acceptance in the marketplace, slow market penetration or utter failure.

Bentley University, with the generous support of hack/reduce, will soon be opening an Experience Studio at hack/reduce to offer no cost to low cost UX services to early stage start-ups. In this inaugural presentation, Bill Albert Director of Bentley’s Design and Usability Center and Bill Gribbons, Director of Bentley’s graduate User Experience program will lead the discussion.  Combined, Bill and Bill bring more than forty-five years of usability and user experience to their clients. They will explore the value lean UX research and design brings to early product development while still moving products to market quickly. Consistent with the lean start-up strategy, they will also highlight the role of UX in measuring, learning and evolving the product after release.

UX Design Review Sessions
June 25, 2013, 7:00PM ET

Discover the best opportunities to improve the user experience of your product! A team of User Experience Consultants from the Bentley University Design and Usability Center (DUC) is hosting a set of private UX reviews of applications or designs created by early stage start-ups. Each design review will evaluate the design against a set of common user scenarios to identify the optimal user experience as well as innovative ideas to push them to the next level. The designs can be in any stage of development. Anything from a sketch on a napkin to wireframes to a fully functional application is fair game. This is a great opportunity to put your products to the test and get some feedback on how to improve the user experience.

If you are interested in reserving your product for a UX design review, email Lena Dmitrieva (ldmitrieva@bentley.edu) or just show up at the design review. UX design sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
