Event description
Join the Bennett Institute 2020 conference, featuring leading speakers in economics, democracy, governance and progress.

About this Event

2020 has already been dubbed the decade where decisive action must be taken on the major problems of our time. This year we address questions about the future of the smart state and society: how can we shape the state in the digital age, how will climate change alter democracy, how should the value of social cohesion be factored into our economies, and how can we evolve our industrial strategies to create equitable and sustainable wealth?

We are delighted to welcome Geoff Mulgan CBE (Chief Executive of Nesta 2011-2019) as our evening plenary speaker, chaired Professor Stephen Toope, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge.

Plenary lecture from Geoff Mulgan CBE

“Government as a brain: how can governments better understand, think, create and remember, and avoid the traps of collective stupidity”
