About this event

In solidarity with the Ukrainian resistance, Benefit for Babushkas* unites donors and musicians who wish to contribute to relief efforts. Your generous and kind response is essential to the health and safety of those harmed and displaced by Putin’s invasion.

Offered by accomplished musicians Paul Brown (bass), Beth Bahia Cohen (violin), Adam Good (oud), Jerry Kisslinger (tapan/daouli), Mavrothi Kontanis (oud, vocals), and Jenny Luna (vocals), the evening’s program includes Turkish, Greek, Ladino, Ukrainian, and Syrian music.

Benefit for Babushkas is organized by the babushka collective, an ad hoc mini-marshall plan effort. Donations made here will be immediately directed to the relief organization Razom, which, in Ukrainian, means "together."

Complimentary beverages served.

City Lore Gallery lies in the heart of the East Village’s “Little Ukraine.” We wish to acknowledge, with gratitude, City Lore for the donation of space to benefit Ukraine, and its curators, Colleen Iverson and Molly Garfinkel, for East Village solidarity, creativity, and full-hearted support.
