The Bicycle Works, A Community Hub for Culture and Technology

Located at 1117 San Anselmo Avenue, San Anselmo, CA 94960. The Bicycle Works invites new members to join, $100 per year, $10 off with event ticket stub before June 15th, 2011.

Marin's do-it-yourself bicycle cooperative workshop offers a well-equipped set of tools, space to maintain and/or build your bike, discounted prices on parts, teaching/learning, repair services and a community hub for bicyclists.

Women on Wheels is a new program of the Marin County Bicycle Coalition (MCBC). Women on Wheels "aims to increase the number of women experiencing the freedom, fun and fitness of cycling. Classes target novices who have never ridden, those who want to improve bike handling and confidence in traffic, and moms who wish to ride and teach their children."

Director Kim Baenisch says MCBC's "mission is to promote safe bicycling for everyday transportation and recreation."

The MYC is supporting this event with a substantial contribution of the space, which is enabling far more of the proceeds to benefit the non-profits, The Bicycle Works coop and the Women On Wheels program. Daniel Solis, Events and Outreach Coordinator of The MYC says "we want to ensure that the community is aware of our desire to create partnerships with non-profits like yours." The space is modern, beautiful and recently remodeled.

The MYC's mission is "to provide an inspiring space created by youth and adults, supporting the development of young people’s talents, potential, and leadership skills through the arts, technology, and community service."
