Event description
Just in time for Halloween! Bat Woman, Kerry Wixted from MDDNR, will sing the praises of bats and lead us on a walk.

About this Event

Bats are extremely beneficial yet poorly understood creatures. Join us for an evening talk on the benefits of local bats as well as those found throughout the world. The talk will also cover reasons for local bat decline and how to make your backyard more bat friendly. Following the talk, we'll head outside and see if any local bats are hunting. Dress appropriately. Meet in the Greenhouse Classroom.

Kerry Wixted is an education and outreach specialist for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife and Heritage Service. Kerry runs several state-wide programs such as Project WILD for educators and Wild Acres for backyard wildlife habitat enthusiasts.
