Description

Join IAC DC and the Bender JCC for the movie screening of Ben Gurion: Epilogue

The movie presents a rare in-depth interview with David Ben-Gurion, one of modern history’s greatest leaders, emerges from the obscurity of an archive where it lay unrecognized for decades. It is 1968, and Ben-Gurion is 82 years old. He lives in the seclusion of his home in the desert, removed from all political discourse, which allows him a unique perspective on the Zionist movement.

His introspective soul-searching is the focus of this film, and his reflections provide a surprising vision for today’s crucial decisions and for the future of Israel.

Following the Movie, we will have a conversation with Asaf Romirowsky, the Executive Director of Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME). Romirowsky is also a fellow at the Middle East Forum and a Professor at the University of Haifa.

Romirowsky is co-author of Religion, Politics, and the Origins of Palestine Refugee Relief and a contributor to The Case Against Academic Boycotts of Israel. Romirowsky’s publicly-engaged scholarship has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The National Interest, The American Interest , The New Republic, The Times of Israel, Jerusalem Post, Ynet and Tablet among other online and print media outlets
