Description

Finding Buddha Within: A Short Introduction to Buddhism

Join us at our Beloved Community series for a night of food, fellowship, and exploring another world faith.

The Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in partnership with The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Tryon, welcomes Reverend Marc Mullinax, professor of Religion and Philosophy, at Mars Hill College.

Rev. Mullinax will present an introductory "Dharma Talk" on Buddhist Basics and how one may experience the power of this great world religion. Included in this talk will be relevant historical stories of the Buddha, basic teachings, the roles of karma and enlightenment, and the influence that meditation has in this 21st Century. This event will include Buddhist music and video, a question and answer period, and conclude with "next steps" if one wants more information or experiences.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Dinner will be provided. Free will donations will be accepted to cover the cost of food.

The talk is co-sponsored by The Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Tryon, and The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Tryon.
