Description

(be)Longing: the Enneagram as a Spiritual Practice

Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31, 2019

9:00 to 5:00 on Saturday.

9:00 to 4:00 on Sunday.

Come to Big Stone House this March and immerse yourself in the new/old teachings of the Enneagram and the new/old practices of contemplative spirituality.

In this two-day event, we will explore the sacred gifts and human challenges, healthy and unhealthy behaviors of each of the Nine Enneagram Types. In that exploration, you'll get a glimpse of why you do the things you do and how those hard-wired habits and beliefs affect your relationships for better or worse. We'll explore how "doing our Type" is an addictive behavior that keeps us disconnected and dull...and we'll engage in spiritual practices and Enneagram teachings that will loosen the grip of those automatic behaviors so that we can experience connection, curiosity, compassion, and belonging in every area of Life.

About the presenters:

Rev. Angie Arendt is co-founder and director of Big Stone House: A Center for Courageous Living and a partner and senior consultant with Deep Life. Angie created and champions The Real Stuff Project (a program for building emotional intelligence and increasing connection and belonging in the workplace) and is visiting faculty for the Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) program. A certified Enneagram instructor, Angie has taught with the Enneagram Institute and most recently co-created (with Peter McGaugh) Another Way: a unique series of progams, workshops, certified trainings and retreats that make the teachings of the Enneagram accesible, practical, and transformational for individuals, families, places of work, and communities.

Angie is ordained in the United Church of Christ (USA) and has more than twenty years of experience and expertise in the art of teaching, storytelling, ritual making, community building, generous listening and spiritual practicing with thousands of people all over the world. Her commitment and focus is (and has always been) all about strengthening the holy human spirit in the world, no matter what.

Peter McGaugh is co-founder of Big Stone House and President of Deep Life. He is passionate about developing authentic leadership (emphasis on authentic). As a Senior Executive within a global corporation for twenty years, Peter discovered a knack for coaching the people around him and committed his work in the world to strengthening leaders by developing their capacity to be human. That is the work he continues to do today as a teacher, coach, and consultant. Peter's unique blend of experience and expertise combined with his commitment to the generative, authentic development of his clients are what make him successful in his work with executives and teams in global and local organizations, companies, and non-profits all over the world today.

Peter is certified as an Integral Developmenal Coach (New Ventures West), and is a certified and authorized Enneagram teacher (Enneagram Institute). He taught with the Enneagram Institute (New York) for a number of years and is currently visiting faculty for the Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership program (Connecticut). Together with Angie Arendt, he is co-creator of Another Way (an accessible, generative, transfomational approach to working with the Enneagram) and Using the Enneagram in the Workplace (a certification program designed with coaches, therapists, counselors, spiritiual directors, and HR professionals in mind).
