Try out Bikepacking with Bell Joy Ride!

This ride has two options- longish and shortish.

Please know your threshhold when choosing your ticket. Cargo Bike shop is hosting an Intro to Bikepacking on May 16th- if you have never bikepacked before, we recommend attending this free event OR talking to a pal about what you'll need for this adventure. This Bell Joy Ride is open to Women, Trans, Femme identifying individuals ages 18 and older.

NOTE: The address listed is for Blue Mounds- not the starting points

Option one: Short(ish) 19 miles (each way) Leaving from Verona park and ride.

Option two: Long(er) 31 miles ( each way) Leaving from Revolution Cycles in Madison.

What to expect:

Bring your bike ready to roll from either start point. Street parking at the Revolution cycles starting point. Lighted parking available at the Verona Park and ride. Verona park and ride limits car parking to 48 hours. Bring what you need to camp,change flats, ride snacks, water for ride. We have limited campsites reserved for the at Blue Mounds. Be sure to plan ahead and reserve a bike/hike in campsite online if you don't "buy" a ticket for the Joy Ride sites. Trail passes are required for the Military Ridge state trail. Be responsible or get a ticket :)

Pack what you need to camp overnight plus food for the night/ day. Blue mounds is not far from Mount Horeb for anyone interested in restaurant food. Blue Mounds has a heated swimming pool + splash pad available for $3 for the day- Pool Party! Showers + flush toilets are available close to the hike/bike campsites. No fireworks! Bike/hike sites have access to potable water. Blue mounds also has MTB trails if anyone is feeling extra ambitous.

By signing up for a ticket through eventbrite, you are agreeing to The Bell Release and Waiver of liability as follows:


RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY


In consideration of Bell Sports, Inc. permitting me to attend and participate in the Bell Joy Ride event at the below date and location (the “Activity”), I do hereby waive, release and forever discharge River City Women's Racing, Blue Ridge School, Bell and Bell’s Joy Ride Ambassadors, officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents, affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, proprietors, successors and assigns (collectively the “Releasees”) from all claims, actions and demands related to my participation in the Activity, including but not limited to any claim resulting from the negligence or lack of care of the Releasees and/or other participants, attendees, or bystanders to the Activity, which I and/or my personal representatives, heirs or successors may have concerning any injury or damage I may incur relating to my participation in the Activity, whether foreseen or unforeseen, including but not limited to death, injury and loss or damage to any person or property. I further agree to defend, hold harmless and indemnify the Releasees from any and all claims arising out of or in any way directly or indirectly connected to my participation in the Activity.


I am voluntarily participating in the Activity with knowledge of the danger involved and hereby agree to accept any and all inherent risks of property damage, personal injury, or death.


I specifically acknowledge the following prior to my participation in the Activity:

  • I understand that the Activity carries inherent dangers. I understand that there may be risks and social and economic losses not known to me or readily foreseeable at this time, and I fully accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs and damages I incur as a result of my participation in the Activity.

  • I understand that it is my responsibility to always use protective equipment including, but not limited to helmets, to possibly prevent property damage, personal injury or death.

  • I understand that I alone am responsible for assessing whether my participation in the Activity poses any health hazard to me. I understand that it may be advisable to consult with my physician before partaking in the Activity.

  • The Activity shall occur in a public venue where my participation will be obvious and known. I hereby consent to be photographed or video recorded during the Activity, and for my name and image to be used by Bell without any further notice, payment, review, or consideration to me.


NO RELEASEES SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURY OR LOSS OF PROPERTY TO ANY PERSON WHILE OBSERVING OR PARTICIPATING IN THE ACTIVITY FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF ANY RELEASEE, OR ANY OTHER VISITOR OR PERSON PRESENT AT OR DURING THE ACTIVITY.


This release and waiver shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. I understand that this waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by applicable laws, and agree that if any portion is held invalid, the remainder of the waiver will continue to be in full legal force and effect. I further agree that the exclusive venue for any legal proceedings related to this release and waiver shall be binding arbitration conducted in Santa Cruz County, California pursuant to the then-applicable procedures established by JAMS.


I affirm or declare that I am freely signing this agreement. I have read this form and fully understand that by signing this form, I am giving up legal rights and/or remedies that may be available to me. I acknowledge that I am at least 18 years of age and fully competent; and that I intend by my signature to completely and unconditionally release of all liability as set forth herein.


GUARDIAN CONSENT AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT

I, the minor’s parent and/or legal guardian, understand the nature of the above referenced obligations and responsibilities. On behalf of minor, I hereby release, discharge, covenant not to sue and AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS Bell and its affiliates from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages on the minor’s account pursuant to this Release.
