Join us on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 for Believe In: Legacy 25 as we kick off the 25th Anniversary celebration of the American Jazz Museum with a special concert from the Mingus Big Band...and so much more!

Experience History with The Mingus Big Band

The Mingus Big Band celebrates the music of composer/bassist Charles Mingus, whose centennial birthday we celebrate in 2022. Under the artistic direction of Sue Mingus, this 14-piece band can be heard in prestigious venues of New York City, and around the world. The ensemble tours extensively in the United States and abroad, and has eleven recordings to its credit, six of which have been nominated for Grammys.

• 5:30PM: Enjoy a cocktail reception at the American Jazz Museum. VIP guests will receive a gift bag with exclusive, commemorative 25th Anniversary items released only for VIP guests of this event. Experience an interactive wandering jam session film inside the museum galleries, highlighting icons in the 18th and Vine Historic Jazz District.

•8:00PM: The Mingus Big Band performs live at the Gem Theater

$25 General Admission – In-Person

• 8:00PM: Access to the Mingus Big Band concert at the Gem Theater.

$25 Virtual Admission

• 7:00PM: Virtual access only to "Believe In: Live at 25," a video tribute to the 18th and Vine Jazz District featuring a performance by Logan Richardson.
