Event Details

Two sessions: Class held on Sundays June 18 and 25, 11am - 2pm
Class size: 16 students maximum
Class length: 3 hours each session, for a total of 6 hours
 Foundation 1 and above

Being vulnerable onstage is the key to portraying real characters and hooking the audience. Whether it is an action scene or an intimate scene, being vulnerable will make your characters real.

You'll work on heightening your emotional range through a series of exercises, scene work, and scenarios. Specific skills that we will be working on will include: showing not saying, getting hurt, emotional noises, intimacy, and reverie. Students should be prepared to play themselves and also take on characters.

About Bill Stahl

Bill Stahl has been a San Francisco based improviser for the past six years. He has gone through the complete BATS curriculum, including several advanced workshops and performance classes. Bill was a guest with the mainstage BATS company for the nine-month 2012/2013 season.  Bill has also performed in and occasionally directed several BATS Cave Match shows.

Bill was a guest with San Francisco based ‘Unscripted Theater’ for the first time in 2015 with the cast of "And it All Went to Hell", and recently with the 2016 show “Secret Lives”. Bill is currently a guest performer at ‘Secret Improv Society’ on an ongoing basis.

Bill was also the director of an internal company  improv performance group “I Heard Chicken, Thank You“ at Dreamworks Animation Redwood City from June 2011 to December 2012.

Currently Bill is most known for his work in the group 'The Five Deadly Improvisers'; an improv group that performs fully improvised classic Kung Fu movies. The Five Deadly Improvisers have performed in many improv festivals across the country, and most recently headlined in the Hawaiian ‘Improvaganza’ festival in 2013 and 2015.
