Description

Greetings, YGG Can Crushers and Advocates!

Save the Date! Youth Going Green is kicking off the new school year with its first meet-up! All young people ages 8 to 17 are encouraged to engage as we highlight ways for young people to influence green behaviors (composing, recycling, waste reduction, etc) in their personal lives as related to their homes, schools, city, jobs, and the collective impact of doing it together! Confirmed speakers and influencers are:

  • Mayor Libby Schaaf of the City of Oakland will share on her passion for green initiatives and hopes for the new school year!
  • Ms. Patrice Moses, Co-Founder of Youth Going Green & 11th grade Scholar in Atlanta, Georgia will share how she is influencing the fast food industry to compost!
  • Wisdom Supply Co who are disrupting what is called the shelf-to-shore pipeline, will share on the "waste" in our schools and highlight solutions reduce it!
  • Youth from the Ecology Center's YEA Program will share on their personal work experiences as participants in the Youth Environmental Academy.

We are grateful all planning to share to inspire and educate young people to lead in innovation and impact! Be sure to wear your YGG shirt! If you need one, you may purchase one at the meeting. Questions: Email ygg@memorialtabernacle.org.
