What is Ayurveda? Ayurve- da provides both curative and preventive measures towards
optimal physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The word “Ayurveda” is from the ancient Indian language, Sanskrit, and literally means “Knowledge of Life”. Inherent in Ayurvedic principles is the concept that you are capable of taking charge of your own life and healing.
Dr (Vaidya)Priyanka or (Vaidyaji as she is often called) comes from a 719 year old lineage of women Ayurvedic healers from Kerala,India. In her prac- tices all over the world, she teaches the principles of Ayurveda and how to integrate the various applica- tions of this ancient science alongside nutritional sup- plements of the West — medicated oil applications, aromatherapy, color therapy, yoga, nutrition, music, cooking, dance, exercise and meditation—into peo- ple’s daily lifestyles as part of their own healing jour-
ney. Her clients gain an understanding of the nature of various foods and their importance in health, and will learn to utilize Ayurvedic techniques of internal cleansing, detoxification, and rejuvenation for the restoration of health. She also teaches 3, 5 and 9 day retreats on the various aspects of Ayurveda, detox, purification, chanting, healing cuisine and meditation as part of Aum Ayurveda’s Aum Aradhana.
