Immerse in one of the world’s most intriguing art forms - Beijing Opera.

About this Event

The last session of the two-day Operatic Identities experience features an exclusive showcase by Tian Ping and her fellow professional Beijing Opera artists. Through a combination of live performance and interactive discussion, she will take opera and cultural enthusiasts on a deeper journey into the artistic splendor of this 200-year old art form. This event will be presented in Mandarin Chinese.

Professionally trained in Beijing opera since the age of 10, Tian Ping graduated from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts and is the winner of the CCTV Screen Award in 1991. She spent over 20 years performing, teaching and promoting opera across Asia. Her works include a joint concert with Singapore Chinese Orchestra, 12 years of teaching at NAFA, and regular speaking engagements with organizations such as the NTU Confucius Institute and Future China Leaders Program. Ping partners with CulturedGen to give Beijing Opera a modern spin while adding depth to the art of interactive performance.
