Event description
A discussion on cybercrime and identity fraud, impacts of COVID-19, scams to watch out for, and tips on protecting your own identity.

About this event

This event presents a rare opportunity to meet two of the nation’s most experienced, and very different, cybersecurity experts. Neal O’Farrell spent nearly 40 years fighting cybercrime and identity theft around the world, including interviewing some notorious identity thieves behind bars. Brett Johnson, who hails from eastern Kentucky, was one of those thieves. He is the creator of the precursor to the Dark Web, described by the Secret Service as “the original internet godfather,” and the first cybercriminal to make the FBI’s Most Wanted List.

In this candid video discussion, O’Farrell and Johnson, better known by his screen name “Gollumfun” to FBI special agents, will discuss the current state of cybercrime and identity fraud, how COVID-19 is changing cybercrime, the scams to watch out for and an insider tour of the Dark Web from the former criminal who helped create it. Attendees will walk away with no-nonsense tips on how to protect their own data and identity.
