Masanobu Yamazaki, Conservator of Japanese Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will present a talk on the tradition and special techniques of mounting Japanese scroll paintings followed by an examination of scrolls that are on view in Heaven and Hell: Salvation and Retribution in Pure Land Buddhism.
