Description
SVA invites you to join Sony Pictures Imageworks animation supervisor David Schaub for a behind-the-scenes look at the animation and visual effects produced for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster directed by Marc Webb, with visual effects supervised by Jerome Chen.
Schaub's presentation will explore the approach his team took in creating keyframed animation with believable physics in a genre that often defies physical laws. As an added bonus, he will offer insightful tips and advice from his masterclass that is helping animators reframe their intuitive understanding of physics--without the need for complicated math that often eludes the visually oriented artist. Schaub will also discuss the creation of new villains, extensive digital environments and effects animation created for this film. Don't miss the opportunity for an inside look at this "amazing" film.
This event is open to SVA students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the VIsual Effects Society.
