Behind-the-Scenes Exploration @ U.S. DoE Brookhaven National Laboratory

Join New York Adventure Club for a comprehensive facilities exploration at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), a historic and cutting-edge research facility responsible for discoveries leading to many advances for science and society as well as seven Nobel Prizes.
Our behind-the-scenes experience at the BNL campus will include:
- A short presentation and overview of Brookhaven National Laboratory, and its ongoing contributions to the global scientific community.
- Lunch at the cafeteria with world-renowned scientists.
- Special access inside several scientific facilities, which in the past have included the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) Tunnel, Tandem Van de Graaff, and Laser-Electron Accelerator Facility (LEAF).
- Multiple opportunities to meet and speak with scientists from various scientific fields.
The exact itinerary will be released closer to the tour date.

*Attendees must travel within BNL by personal car. Carpools will be arranged closer to the event. Drivers will be compensated for gas expenses by NYAC based on number of attendees.
**Lunch at BNL cafeteria will be subsidized or comped depending on number of attendees.
***An official government-issued photo ID (e.g., passport, driver’s license), long pants, and fully enclosed shoes that are flat are required. Access will be restricted without proper ID and dress.
****Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) schedules group tours at no cost. No portion of the fees charged for this tour will be remitted to BNL, but will cover administrative items arranged on behalf of the group by New York Adventure Club, including, but not limited to, transportation and dining.
