Event description

Description

Explore the hidden tunnels, secret balconies, and abandoned rooms of some of New York’s most incredible landmarks.

Join New York Adventure Club for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes exploration of Bronx Community College, the former campus of New York University from 1894-1973 that sits on one of the highest spots in New York City.

Led by the campus historian, this special experience will include:

  • A walkthrough of The Hall of Fame for Great Americans, the original “Hall of Fame” in this country and New York landmark institution founded in 1900 — the 630-foot open-air Colonnade honors prominent Americans who have had a significant impact on this nation’s history
  • A visit to several buildings designed by architect Marcel Breuer in the “brutalist” and “suave coffered concrete” style.
  • A trip inside Gould Memorial Library, the grand domed library designed by Stanford White in 1899, who modeled it after the Pantheon
  • An exclusive exploration through the network of hidden tunnels, abandoned rooms, and secret balconies surrounding the Gould Memorial Library
