Event description
A behind-the-scenes tour of TPF!

About this event

Join TPF's Katie Tilford for a guided tour of areas not usually open to the public. Visit our plant propagation and seed conservation facilities, and learn more about our work to make a wide selection of California native plants available to gardeners.

This tour will be held outdoors in working production facilities. We ask guests to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and to prepare for up to 90 minutes of walking on steep, uneven, and wet surfaces. Water bottles and sun protection are also strongly encouraged.

We require that all attendees follow CDC health and safety guidelines. Unvaccinated individuals must wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose at all times.

Katie Tilford is a certified horticulturist, former nursery manager, and Executive Assistant at Theodore Payne Foundation. She is passionate about popularizing botanical knowledge and finding ways that plants can connect us.

Organizer Theodore Payne Foundation

Organizer of Behind the Scenes at Theodore Payne Foundation with Katie Tilford

Theodore Payne Foundation inspires and educates Southern Californians about the beauty and ecological benefits of California native plant landscapes.

We are located on 22 acres of canyon land in the northeast corner of the San Fernando Valley. Our full-service native plant nursery, seed room, book store, art gallery, demonstration gardens, and hiking trails are open to the public year round. We offer garden tours and classes for adults and families, as well as field trips to TPF and in-classroom programs for children. Friendly on-leash dogs are welcome and there is no admission charge!
