Event description
If you’ve never used a sewing machine or have limited experience, we will teach you all the basics you need to get started sewing!

About this Event

Have you always wanted to learn to sew on a machine? Now is your opportunity! This free, 2-hour workshop is for beginners who have never used or have very limited experience using a sewing machine. We will start from the beginning and learn the basics, such as identifying the parts of a sewing machine, threading the machine, loading the bobbin, adjusting the tension, changing needles, and troubleshooting. You will practice sewing straight and curved lines, turning corners, and backstitching. You will also learn about sewing techniques like seam allowances and how to adjust the settings on the machine. After this class, you will be ready for any of our project-based classes. Intended for adults & teens 15 & older.
