Beginning Open & Utility Obedience

Class times: Thursdays 8:15 - 9:30pm

Beginner Open is for handlers who wish to continue to work with their dogs, learn new exercises and gain more control over their dogs as well as those who wish to train their dogs for competitive obedience. The class will introduce the dumbbell retrieve and jumping for preparation to move to the Sunday, Polish Open class. Students will also be introduced to foundation skills for Utility Exercises. Admission is limited to those dogs that have:

1) Received recommendation from the Intermediate class Instructor

2) Obtained Beginner Novice or Companion Dog title

3) Received recommendation from the Training Director

Important! If you are not a DTCDC member, veterinary receipts showing current rabies, parvovirus, & bordetella vaccines must be provided via email to registrar@dallasdogtraining.org within 24 hours of registering. BE SURE TO INCLUDE ORDER #, NAME, & DOG'S NAME ON THESE VETERINARY RECEIPTS.

Failure to provide these documents will result in being dropped from class.

How many weeks is the class?

Class meets for 6 weeks on Thursdays.

What vaccinations are required?

Rabies, parvovirus, and bordetella vaccines are required.

If you are a DTCDC member: Be sure to update the Annual Form with current vaccination information.

If you are not a DTCDC member: Veterinary receipts showing current rabies, parvovirus, and bordetella vaccines must be provided via email to registrar@DallasDogTraining.org within 24 hours of registering. What are the class times?

8:15 - 9:30pm

Is the training indoors?

Yes, in a climate controlled building.

Is there a minimum age limit?

Handlers under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Are all breeds welcome?

Yes

Are mixed breeds welcome?

Yes

Do all registration questions need to be answered?

DTCDC Active Members - Only those questions marked with an asterisk must be answered.

All other attendees - Yes, all questions must be answered before registration is complete. These questions provide us with information that will improve your training experience.

Will I be contacted with confirmation of acceptance into class?

Yes, watch for confirmation of acceptance from the registrar after all registration questions are answered. This may take 2-3 days.
