Event description

Description

Come learn with new farmers Craig and Mary-Beth Gardner at Asclepias Farm. We will learn about their production goals, and how planting of milkweed as a pollinator plant and niche crop fits into their goals. We'll also talk about the farm’s preparations and challenges around milkweed production, environmental and economic considerations, agronomics, and see a seeding demonstration. This workshop is brought to you by the UVM Extension Center for Sustainable Agriculture and the Northwest Crops & Soils Team, the White River Natural Resources Conservation District and the Connecticut River Watershed Farmers Alliance. Participants will receive two Water Quality education credits.

To request a disability-related accommodation to participate in this program, please contact Cheryl Herrick at 802-656-5459 or at Cheryl.Herrick@uvm.edu by September 26th, 2019 so we may assist you.
