Beginner Mountain Bike Ride
Granite Bay Saturday June 4th, 2011
BRIEF RIDE SYNOPSIS:
Join us for a fun ride on the trails in Granite Bay around Folsom Lake. This will be a 12-17 mile out and back ride. This trail will have both moderate uphill and technical sections. If you are comfortable shifting and can complete 12 miles of riding on mountain bike trials then this is the place to be!!
1. Meeting Place and Time:
Meet at 8:30 in front of the new Bayside Base Camp, 8745 Auburn Folsom Blvd, 95746. This is in the Ace Hardware shopping center on the south-east corner of Douglas Blvd and Auburn Folsom Blvd. BAS Base Camp is next to Cycles for Hope and is located towards the south end of the shopping area. For anyone who needs a sugar or caffeine fix there is a Donut Shop next to Base camp.Adventure Sports
2 Registration is required:
Please register at http://beggranitebay2011.eventbrite.com/. There is no charge to participate in this activity but you are required to register and sign a liability release form. Bring a signed release form the day of event.
3. Bayside Membership:Adventure Sports
Bayside Adventure Sports Membership is now required for our events. This annual fee helps offset our high insurance cost and helps keep most of our events free, including this one. If you are new to BAS, we offer a free three month trial – please contact Pam Harvey at email@example.com and she can set this up for you. 4. Skills and Fitness Description:
To understand what is required of you as a rider please read the Skills and Fitness description located on our website. This ride is rated Technical = 1-3, Fitness = A-C.
5. Other Useful and Important Information:
You must have your own mountain bike in good mechanical condition.
Tools And Spare Tube:
Please carry your own spare tube and patch kit, air pump and other basic tools needed to make repairs on the trail. If you’re not sure what “basic tools” are we can discuss this on ride day.
Water and Food:
At least 40 oz of water is required, bring your own food and/or energy bars for the ride.
Helmet and Clothing:
Helmets are required! Proper clothing and shoes for the weather conditions will make your ride that much more enjoyable.
Rain will cancel our ride, if we need to cancel the ride because of weather I will send out an email Friday before 6:00.
