Event description

Description

Steve Finke, owner of Meadow View Beekeeping, LLC. in Kutztown and past President of the Lehigh Valley Beekeepers Association, will speak about the importance of honeybees and the recent challenges they face.

There are many actions we can all take to improve the health and populations of local pollinators….from avoiding or limiting use of herbicides and pesticides in our lawns and gardens, to planting native flowering plants that provide nutrition, to becoming “backyard beekeepers” ourselves.

Steve will talk about these options, show examples of honeybees on local plants and trees, and go over the basics of how to start a beekeeping hobby in your back yard.

The program is for adults and interested teenagers

The program is held in our covered garage. It is open to the weather on one side. Please dress appropriately. Event is held rain or shine.

Please leave your pets at home. The nursery is also a non-smoking facility.

If you are unable to attend, you may send someone in your place.

There is no need to print or bring your ticket.

Refunds for tickets can be issued if ticket is cancelled 10 days before the event. After that time, we are unable to offer refunds in the event you are unable to attend. Please send a friend in your place. Any funds left after we have met our expenses for the event will be donated to habitat projects within the community.
