Event description

Description

During women’s lengthy battle to gain the vote, suffrage leaders sought to strategically mobilize women. The strategies and tactics to achieve the goal were many and varied. Since obtaining the vote, women’s influence, and participation, has waxed and waned. Some of the methods used for obtaining suffrage, have translated well over the years, and some have not. New methods have become effective. Join Jane Plitt in a walk through a fascinating history of women’s successes and failures, to motivate and effect change.

You will find Jane a wonderful speaker, her presentation fascinating, and her depth of knowledge impressive. After Jane's talk, join in small groups brainstorming for ways to mobilize on several current scenarios. You will have your chance to be political and creative, just like scores of women have, through the years.

Jane Plitt is an author, business leader and former executive director for the National Organization of Women. Among other publications, Jane is the author of “Martha Matilda Harper and the American Dream: How One Woman Changed the Face of Modern Business” and “Martha’s Magical Hair”.
