It's time for the second edition of Beecoming your Collective!
Do you have aspirations to contribute to a social cause—such as ending poverty or advocating for gender equality—but never found the time or tools to actually get started?
What do we believe in?
At Bee Collective, we believe that it is possible, by forming temporary Pop Up Companies, to solve parts of the complex Sustainable Development Goals together. We’re aware that the world we live in right now deals with horrifying facts that threaten the lives of millions—and we cannot solely rely on government, the UN and large corporations to help improve lives on a large scale.
Bearing that in mind, the people—we, can get the ball rolling together. Because when we work collectively, we will outnumber any large organizational or governmental body.
We don’t believe in competing—in starting hundreds of initiatives with a similar purpose. Instead, we combine expertise and start projects with one purpose, involving (possibly) hundreds of people, who all contribute with different expertise.
What do we do about it?
We start temporary (for-profit) projects—with a specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-framed goal that can be reached within 6 months, to up to one year. In a team, you will dictate the intensity of the goal and work to be done, the time you’ll need to spend on it, and the level of impact you want to have. When the goal is reached, you have made an impact—you’ll have made your mark for that cause you always dreamed about helping. You can then choose to leave it at that, or, continue with the next project.
On January 18th, 2017 , we will get together at the Impact Hub, Amsterdam, briefly discuss various causes, and then start forming projects, and determine goals. Let´s mark the start of your project on the 16th of November.
