All ticket sales are final with no refunds. There will be no ticket sales at the door of the Opening Ceremony and no ticket sales at the door of the Awards Ceremony.
Online ticket holders should print your ticket and present at the door.
The Beaufort Film Society is pleased to present the 11th annual Beaufort International Film Festival February 15 - 19, 2017. Our 2016 festival welcomed nearly 12,500 film lovers to Beaufort for 4 fun filled days of movie watching and star gazing all with the beautiful backdrop of the marshes of the Carolina Sea Islands. This year we are adding a day to the festival, making BIFF a 5 day event. Come experience what has been called by many as the "best little film festival in the southeast." In December 2013 the Beaufort International Film Festival was named as one of the Top 25 General Film Festivals in the World, 2013 by national publication MovieMaker Magazine.
The inagural Robert Smalls Merit and Acheivement Award will be presented to Julie Dash. Ms. Dash, Director of the Sundance Award-winning film "Daughters of the Dust" (1991) is noted for becoming the first African American woman to have a wide theatrical realease of the film. The backdrop for the film was Beaufort, South Carolina. The newly restored film of "Daughters of the Dust" will screen at the festival on Saturday night, Feb. 18th. A panel discussion will immediately follow with Ms. Dash, other cast and crew from the Beaufort area. A Champagne Reception will be held at 6pm on Sunday, Feb 19th followed at 7pm by the Festival Awards Ceremony. The following categories of Features, Documentary, Animation, Short Films, Student Films, and Screenplays will receive the prestigious Jean Ribaut Awards. Other awards to be presented will be Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Comedy, and Audience Choice.
The Opening Night Filmmakers Receptoin will take place on Wednesday, February 15th @ 6:00 pm at Tabby Place, 913 Port Republic Street , Downtown Beaufort. Dress code: Business casual. Advanced Ticket Sales only - No sales at the door.
Screenings on Thursday, Feb. 16, Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 18 to be held at the University of South Carolina, Beaufort, Center for the Arts, located at 805 Carteret Street, Beaufort, SC 29902. Online Ticket Sales and at the Door Sales for all screenings. The University of South Carolina, Beaufort will offer a Film and Digital Media Symposium in association with the Beaufort Film Society on Saturday, Feb. 18th at USCB Center for the Arts. The symposium will begin at 10:00 am. The Symposium is free and open to the public.
The Awards Ceremony will be held at the University of South Carolina, Beaufort, Center for the Arts, on Sunday, Feb. 19th, located at 805 Carteret Street, Beaufort, SC 29902. Dress code: Black Tie Optional @ 6:00 pm Champagne Reception; 7:00 pm Awards Ceremony will begin. Advanced Ticket Sales only - No sales at the door.
