Rwenshaun Miller - Removing the Stigma of discussing Mental Health

  • Illustrate the significant impact of the stigma of mental illness among the Black community and entrepreneurs.

  • To highlight the mental health experiences and outcomes of the Black entrepreneurs from a mental health and wellness perspective, with particular attention given to viable solutions to the structural impediments that can impede success at all points along the entrepreneurial journey.

  • To provide a forum to improve practice for entrepreneurs when addressing mental health challenges and to access care when it is needed.

Mental health change agent, Rwenshaun Miller, is a therapist, author, and social entrepreneur. As a licensed professional counselor, Rwenshaun services individuals spanning all ages, with a goal of helping each person understand and take accountability for their own mental wellness. He uses his personal experience living with Bipolar Disorder to educate others and break the stigma associated with mental health challenges with his nonprofit, Eustress Inc. Rwenshaun has been featured on various media platforms, including the Huffington Post, and Power 105.1FM’s “The Breakfast Club.” He is also the recipient of the American Psychiatric Association Foundation award for Advancing Minority Mental Health.

Andrea is an award-winning national speaker, author/publisher and talk show host with a message of hope to overcome mental health challenges. She is an outspoken leader who empowers others to embrace their mental wellness and stand tall in victorious confidence. Andrea founded Progressive Organized Wellness Empowering Recovery, LLC to provide mental health resources, open the dialogue about mental illness to eliminate personal and societal stigma while providing Peer support advocacy.

Mia Reid - Handling Grief and Seasonal Depression

  • The holidays can be really rough for those that have experienced a loss may be easily triggered by others enjoyment and exuberance. Those that are grieving should never feel obligated to be involved with family traditions nor should they feel as if they “must be strong” this virtual summit will provide healthy coping techniques for those that have experienced a loss.

Mia Reid is a Limited Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC, LLPC) and the founder of Change Happens Today, a Mental Health Private Practice, located in Southfield, MI. Her goal is to offer a safe space for those looking to improving life through individual, couples, family, or group counseling. Mia says her purpose to listen, understand, and empathize with others issues in order to establish a therapeutic alliance. In addition to being a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, Mia has over 25 years of experience working in higher education with student conflict resolution.
