Beach Meditation Community of Practice
Event Information
About this event
NEW START TIME 9:00amEST!
Join us every Sunday for a healing-centered and inclusion-focused movement and meditation community of practice in collaboration with Blue Mindfulness, Diversity Aquatics, and the Mind Body Resiliency Coalition. Together we build a more resilient, kind, compassionate and inclusive world that honors diversity, equity and inclusion (BIPOC, LGBTQIA, Special Needs, All Ages, All Faiths). We also intentionally center our practices on healing the past, present and future for both individual and community growth and justice.
Each week a different teacher qualified in a science-based mind body or mindfulness practice guides us through movement and meditation. If you are a qualified mind body teacher and would like to volunteer among our community of instructors, please email knellee@ahameducation.org.
Park in Parking Lot #1 at the Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park – formally known as John U. Lloyd State Park – is the first state park in Florida to be named for African Americans.
After parking in Parking Lot #1 we meet at the bridge to do a land acknowledgement reflection and then we do a mindful walk as we proceed to our practice location on the beach. Practice ends by 10:45am but you are welcome to stay with Diversity Aquatics and SWIMS members to have a "water experience" or just spend self-care / family time on the beach.
