Event description

BESSprogramme (@BESSprogramme) and Construction Coach (@constructcoach) are thrilled to announce that we've teamed up to bring you a monthly webinar, celebrating the changemakers in construction, sharing tactics and ideas to improve the sector and speed up change in four key areas - Skills, Diversity, Ethics and Wellbeing

BE the Action webinars will take place on the 2nd Friday of every month, at 1pm

These half-hour broadcasts will offer construction and built environment listeners clear steps to allow them to replicate or participate in initiatives, ask questions and share ideas for tackling some of construction's more persistent problems. You can find us on Twitter @BE_theAction

In addition to the monthly webinar (and subsequent iTunes podcast), the content of the webinar will also be featured in four industry publications:

MARCH - 10th March, 1pm

GUEST - Kevin Millin, Disabled People in Construction

Kevin Millin is a Senior Quantity Surveyor for Keepmoat Homes, and founder of Disabled People in Construction.

"Someone asked me 'Do disabled people have a place in the UK construction industry?' Not only do we, but I think we can help make it better.

"After searching for help and information for myself, I could not find anything other than a few articles, and I am sure I am not alone; so thought if there is not a place, then why not create one.

"I would like this to be a place people feel they can come for help, support and know that you are not alone. I hope we can convince the main organisations in the industries to help, support and grow the numbers of people entering what I consider the best industry in the world, whether as young education leavers or as people who have a lot to offer, or even worked in the trades and had to stop."

Tune in to hear about Kevin's involvement with the All Party Parliamentary Group Disability report, mythbusting disability preconceptions in the workplace, and the CIC "Disability and the Built Environment Inquiry"
