Description

December is National Impaired Driving Month. Each year Drunk, Drugged, and Distracted driving claims thousands of lives.

Torch Club invites all 6th-12th grade kids from Redding and Easton to a town hall meeting aimed at educating kids about the dangers of impaired driving and discouraging underage drinking. Town hall panelists include:

  • Douglas Fuchs, Redding Connecticut Police Chief

  • Richard Colangelo, States Attorney for the Judicial District of Stamford-Norwalk

  • Matthew Cassavechia, Head of Emergency Medical Services Danbury Hospital

  • Lenore Pranzo MA, LMFT Redding Counseling

The event will start with a short dinner followed by a panel discussion and a question and answer period. This event is made possible by a grant from the United States Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Adminstration. Thank you to our food sponsor TransAmerica Corporation.

Torch Club is a Character and Leadership group at the Boys & Girls Club of Redding-Easton for kids grades 6-8. Torch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community; education; health and fitness; and social recreation.
